New Years: New Goals
I have to say I have never enjoyed New Years. Birthdays are fun, until you are 21 and then they kind of all go down hill, but New Years I’m not sure is enjoyable at any age. The only two … Continue reading New Years: New Goals

I was obviously very excited about this race. I set it as a goal in September of 2018, and trained the entire year to prepare for it. This was the second marathon of the year for me and I decided to turn it into a larger vacation. I was disheartened that I was diagnosed with a lung infection the Wednesday before the race. I had a persistent cough that would not go away, and got worse when I ran. However, I was provided medication and hoped to be feeling better in time for the race. I arrived in Berlin on … Continue reading Berlin Marathon
The last of these threads I was training for the Berlin Marathon. This time, I don’t want to train for one specific race. I hope to do more races this year (hopefully on the cheap). I will catalogue my long … Continue reading Ongoing Thread: Long Run Day
The trip was long, great, and fun. I really didn’t have a favorite place, but enjoyed every spot I got to see. I will try to give a quick snapshot of some of the trip below. The trip began with … Continue reading Berlin to Munich to Salzburg to Graz to Zagreb to Dubrovnik to Hvar to Split to Home
Initial thoughts and why I’m reading it: I kind of already mentioned one of the reasons why I’m reading this book in my Churchill: A Look Back post. Churchill was reading a Hornblower novel when he crossed the Atlantic for his first meeting with Eisenhower. However, I have another connection to these books. When I was younger, in elementary or middle school, a friend of mine told me about this great television series called Horatio Hornblower and lent me the DVDs. It was an AMC series that I ended up watching with my father. Mr. Midshipman Hornblower, that I’m reading … Continue reading Currently Reading: The Hornblower Novels of C.S. Forester
At the end of September, I plan to run the Berlin Marathon. Since I will be over in Europe I decided to make a larger trip of it, and one of the places I decided to go was Croatia, as … Continue reading Scuba Diving Open Water Certification

Headliner: The Struts (Genre: Rock) Opening Act(s): BONES UK and The Glorious Sons Venue: The 9:30 Club Thoughts: On Wednesday, I went to go see The Struts play at the 9:30 Club. I first came across this band when I saw them … Continue reading Concert: The Struts
Andrew Roberts’ Churchill: Walking with Destiny is a fantastic biography. I really enjoyed it. One of my largest takeaways is what a passionate person Churchill was. Not everything he did was the wisest, or best decision, but he always believed … Continue reading In Conclusion: Churchill: Walking with Destiny
Distance: 12K Weather at run time: Mid-70s, Sunrise 6:05am This morning, I participated in the 12K’s of Christmas Holiday run put on by the DC Running Club. I wore my belt and HR monitor. I did not have any gel packets, but I did eat half a bagel with peanut butter for breakfast. I decided to do this run because I’ve been looking for more races to participate in before the Berlin Marathon. I realized during the marathon in March that races are a lot different than training. Your competitive drive really kicks in, and it can effect your pace. I thought … Continue reading 12K’s Of Xmas In July Run
