2020 was Purgatory

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening BY ROBERT FROST Whose woods these are I think I know.   His house is in the village though;   He will not see me stopping here   To watch his woods fill up with snow.    My little horse must think it queer   To stop without a farmhouse near   Between the woods and frozen lake   The darkest evening of the year.    He gives his harness bells a shake   To ask if there is some mistake.   The only other sound’s the sweep   Of easy wind and downy flake.    The woods are lovely, dark and deep,   But I have promises to keep,   And miles to go before I sleep,   And … Continue reading 2020 was Purgatory

Blogging for one year today

This is just a short post to commemorate the one year anniversary of this blog. I can’t believe it has already been a year. I’m glad to be able to look back and see the different posts from the past year, and am excited to keep blogging. I had tried to start a blog in the past; I’m not sure why this time I was actually able to stick with it, but I’m glad I have. Can’t wait to see what happens over the next year. Thanks to everyone that reads, and thanks to the other bloggers. I’ve found some … Continue reading Blogging for one year today

DC JazzFest

Yesterday, I attended the DC JazzFest at The Wharf. I have been attending the JazzFest for a number of years now, but this is the first time I’ve ever attended the festival at its new location, The Wharf. It used to be held in the Navy Yard, but I believe last year, it was moved. I did attend last year, but went to the ticketed opening of the JazzFest which was held at City Winery. That was a great event! The day of the show Dave Chappelle announced he would be doing a performance later that night to celebrate the … Continue reading DC JazzFest

Memorial Day and A Week Home

At the last minute I decided to go home for Memorial Day and stayed the week. I sustained a minor injury (pulled muscle) and couldn’t run so thought it was a good time for some rest. I am hoping to restart my running next week. The break and being home with family was great though. I got to see my sister’s new place in the Village of Fairport and attend some of Canal day’s (the local festival). Picture below. I got to play golf with my brother and my father. We had a great day for it. The golf course … Continue reading Memorial Day and A Week Home

A Hopping Easter

As mentioned in my birthday post, my sister had been planning to move to our native Rochester, New York. Yesterday was moving day, and she is now a Western New Yorker again. Leading up to Easter weekend, there was a series of farewells. One such farewell was from her coworkers, who wanted to have a send-off dinner for her, and kindly invited me to join them. The dinner was at Pinstripes in Georgetown and was very nice. It was my first time at Pinstripes, and I felt that the venue was a great place for hosting a large number, like … Continue reading A Hopping Easter
