Currently Reading: The Hornblower Novels of C.S. Forester

Initial thoughts and why I’m reading it: I kind of already mentioned one of the reasons why I’m reading this book in my Churchill: A Look Back post. Churchill was reading a Hornblower novel when he crossed the Atlantic for his first meeting with Eisenhower. However, I have another connection to these books. 12K’s Of Xmas In July Run

Distance: 12K Weather at run time: Mid-70s, Sunrise 6:05am This morning, I participated in the 12K’s of Christmas Holiday run put on by the DC Running Club. I wore my belt and HR monitor. I did not have any gel packets, but I did eat half a bagel with peanut butter for breakfast. I decided to do this run because I’ve been looking for more races to participate in before the Berlin Marathon. I realized during the marathon in March that races are a lot different than training. A Look Back: Petty: The Biography

I wanted to do another A Look Back post. These are a little tougher because I’m not currently reading the book, so it’s not as fresh; however, it also provides an opportunity to reflect on a book I’ve previously read.
