SQUAWK POD has been one of my favorite podcasts since it launched in 2019. I enjoy watching SQUAWK BOX on CNBC, but the program is 3 hours long so I typically only catch part of it. This is a daily podcast that basically is a highlight reel of the show. I will say that, occasionally, there are good segments on the show that you are going to miss if you only listen to the podcast. However, with the podcast running a little less than 30 minutes and the show, as mentioned, being 3 hours, it’s a tradeoff. The show is anchored by Joe Kernen, Becky Quick, and Andrew Ross Sorkin, and covers the “pre-market” morning news. While it does focus on financial news, the stories vary, and I personally find it to be less biased news. There’s no real agenda, all the anchors have different viewpoints, and openly debate various topics. Sometimes the shows on CNBC can get a bit too financially technical for me to be able to follow. I do not find that to be the case with SQUAWK POD. While they will give a listener an overview of the financial markets, they don’t tend to get so detailed that only a financial manger could understand. The segments included in the podcast seem to be less technical than even the show. If you are looking for a quick breakdown of the news of the day, I would highly recommend this podcast, or if your a morning person with 3 hours to kill, give the show a try.
