Stranger Things Season 3

Summary in three words: The Neverending Story

Reaction: I was really excited for the third season. After seeing all the episodes, I’m a little disappointed with it. I still enjoyed the new episodes, but it’s starting to feel a little tired. I was hoping for a big change, something that would really alter the direction of the series. I’m sure some will argue that some big questions arose this season, that will need to be answered, but for me that wasn’t enough. My main problem was that it felt too much like a rehash of seasons 1 and 2. I liked the previous seasons, so I didn’t hate this one, but really hope it goes in a new direction next time.

Worth watching? Yes

Favorite Character: Dustin

Found Interesting: Not much; maybe the Russia thing.

Spider-Man: Far From Home

Summary in three words: A crappy vacation

Reaction: This is one of the Marvel movies I was most excited for. In general, I like the smaller scale Marvel films the most (e.g. Ant-man, Spider-man, Captain America). If I were to rate this movie I would probably give it a 7.5/10. It was a solid sequel, but kind of felt like filler to me. I think my major issue was with the villain. Part of my disappointment probably stems from the villain in Homecoming being one of the best so far in a Marvel film; it’s hard to top it.

Worth watching? Yes

Found Interesting: The after credits scene.

Warrior

Summary in three words: Enter the Dragon

Reaction: This show is awesome. Based around the Chinese gangs in San Francisco in the late 1870s, the show is very action-based with a lot of martial arts. It is also just interesting to see the different immigrant populations at the time period, and the tension between them. Not spoiling anything but the western saloon episode is great. I’m really excited for the next installment of this series, and glad it has already been renewed. The Tong Wars are just getting started, and I’m excited to see how they play out.
