At the last minute I decided to go home for Memorial Day and stayed the week. I sustained a minor injury (pulled muscle) and couldn’t run so thought it was a good time for some rest. I am hoping to restart my running next week. The break and being home with family was great though. I got to see my sister’s new place in the Village of Fairport and attend some of Canal day’s (the local festival). Picture below.
I got to play golf with my brother and my father. We had a great day for it. The golf course was very busy for Memorial Day but it was great weather and fun to be out. Pictures below.
I got to visit my new favorite local spot Seven Story Brewing. They work with a nearby brewer to create unique craft beers based around the 7 plot types of stories; Overcoming the Monster, Rags to Riches, The Quest, Voyage and Return, Comedy, Tragedy, Rebirth. It’s a great place, with a very Adirondack feel, right on the Erie Canal. Pictures below.
Got to take Simi for some good walks. Which she definitely needed.
Also got to catch up with some great friends but their are purposefully no pictures of that. Overall it was great to be home and to be able to rest. I hope everyone had a fantastic Memorial Day! Although our vacation was restorative, Simi does not seem to understand the vacation is over.
