It’s over!

Summary in three words: A worthy conclusion

Reaction: (No Spoilers) Went to go see Avengers: Endgame at the Landmark’s Atlantic Plumbing Cinema. Going to be really careful about what I say in this post because I hate when people intentionally or even unintentionally ruin movies. The first thing I would like to comment on is the theater. Landmark is a very nice cinema to watch a film. The theater rooms are relatively small (about 44 seats), the chairs are leather recliners (without retractable leg rest), and there is a full bar if you want to have a drink while watching the film. The staff also deserves a shoutout because they are very friendly and helpful. Now to the movie. I was very happy with it. The problem with many “fantasy” genre stories is that they get so large, so many characters, places, subplots, etc. they become almost impossible to successfully wrap up. You almost wonder if the creators are avoiding trying to conclude them (looking at you George R.R. Martin, Patrick Rothfuss). I am a huge nerd, and love these stories, but the ending is a pivotal part of judging a tale. Return of the Jedi, for most people, successfully concluded Star Wars. If it hadn’t, that trilogy might not be so beloved. Endings matter. Endgame successfully concludes a series that was bordering on getting out of hand with the amount of characters and subplots that had been introduced. Some fans might not be happy that it is over, but personally I’m glad. I’m not sure I will continue to see every Marvel film, but I’m glad they put a bow on the initial arc. I did not love every part of Endgame, but I didn’t need to. I just wanted it to satisfactorily end the journey that I had followed, and it accomplished that in spades. Hope you like it!

Worth watching? Yes

Favorite Character: Nebula

Found Interesting: The adults crying out of sadness or joy in the theater. It’s a good movie, but calm down.
